Ate my first clam in York, Maine at an ocean view restaurant, near where this photo was taken.

Is it possible to fall in love with a state in a matter of hours?

Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House

The home-turned-museum of Louisa May Alcott, author of the 1868 novel, Little Women

The house is full of original artifacts from the Alcott family, who inspired Little Women.

The Orchard House was also home to Concord Minutemen during the Redcoats’ march in 1775.

Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts

This tree-lined path in Concord leads to the Old North Bridge and battle monument, the site of the “shot heard ’round the world”, where militiamen first fired on British troops.

A unique, thought-provoking memorial to the British soldiers (or “redcoats”) who fought in the Battles of Lexington and Concord.

Old North Bridge, where the British soldiers’ march on Concord was stopped with gun fire.

Buckman Tavern on Battle Green in Lexington, where a battle began between British troops and the Lexington Militia.

Boston’s Freedom Trail

Granary Burying Ground, burial location of several founding fathers.

Imagine my confusion when this official Freedom Trail site called “Old Corner Bookstore” turned out to be a Chipotle restaurant.
